I have been doing some welding on some horizontal panels, and also welding a few small panels upside down. Is it normal when welding horizontal or upside down for the wire to stick to the tip? It is also usually when I have the power setting quite high.
As I am working on thin body work, I use the short pulse/pause method when welding. When I do the first or second pause I often find the wire sticks to the tip, and I have to get a pair of pliers inside the shroud to try and release the wire from the tip. I have used the non-stick/spatter spray but it doesn't help really for this.
Does it mean that I have the settings wrong on my welder, or is this just a problem I will encounter when the settings are high and I'm upside down?
