Ive had my Parweld 171 for around 7 years and never had any issues with it. It has been used mainly for car body repairs and some fabrication with steel upto 4mm thick.
Recently the mig wire (0.6mm non flux) started to bird nest after the feed roller and where it entered the eurotorch. I cleaned the roller, replaced the tip etc... but this made no difference so I bought a new parweld eurotorch, fitted it and set the roller tension so when held with 2 fingers the wire slips.
The first weld with the new torch and it birdnested again. The wire also seems to stick to the tip alot then after a second or 2 releases when i depress the trigger. I have tried this with the shield and tip off and it still from time to time seems to stick then eventually birdnests. The wire will feed no problem when not arcing.
Does anyone have any ideas what the issue could be? I am close to binning the welder and buying a portamig.
I use a argon/co blend gas and I cannot remember where I bought the 0.6mm 5kg wire roll from. It may have been halfords or eurocarparts.
Thanks
Daniel
