I've stepped up from a cebora pocket 130. The welds I had produced with that machine were ok, and my understanding was that they would be be immensely better with a decent machine. In comes the kemppi minarcmig Evo 200...
This is the first proper go I've had with it, but I'm not doing too great. I've tried to weld up a mixture of 5mm plate and 2.5mm box section. I've set the machine to 5mm and 2.5mm respectively. Where I'm joining 5mm to 2.5mm, I've set the machine to 3.5mm.
What I'm finding is that my welds look quite cold. The beads aren't laying flat, and I'm blowing through if I try to get some heat into it. I had one 5mm piece completely fall off after welding it... I'm going to assume it's me and not the machine. Where am I going wrong?
