Sat indoors watching the rain , too much time on my hands lol....

I need to weld an L shape piece onto a crossmember for the fuel tank holder to bolt to. There will be side braces welded on as well.

Out of interest, Which would be stronger without the braces ?

If both metals are same thickness,

Cut a piece of box section diagonally to make the L or
Bash a piece of flat 90deg to shape it. ?

Or should I man up and get under the Disco in the rain and do something else ?

I'd be inclined to say the box would be stronger, it's been hot formed so there'll be no work hardening in the corner. It's easier too.
