Not really. The advantages of 3.2 are really based around smaller rods having a tendency to throw a little arc wonder into the mix. This usually results in a slag trap. I dunno why but a bigger rod just seems more stable and I always try to use a 3.2 over a 2.5 if the material can cope with it.am I right in thinking 3.2 rods would make it easier to strike because you're using higher power setting?
Another advantage of a 3.2 over a 2.5 is it has a higher ratio of filler to flux so there is less flux around to cause slag traps!

It eats 56s no problem.
The trans tig version also 48 v was an excellent cel runner with 6010’s.
