Which Grade Stainless easiest to Tig ?

    Ok gang which grade stainless is easiest to Tig weld ?
    Got a little task on and it needs to be S/S but no requirement of grade so want to get what is easier/cheaper to Tig, 304 ?

    304 is probably the cheapest, depends what the end use is going to be for the item though, i wouldnt use 304 for marine

    Ok so it’s a jig and not actually staying on the bike.
    Any reason why stainless is the weapon of choice. Steel would be cheaper

    I fabricated one from steel and have bench tested for about 8 years now but it looks weathered so i fancied one in s/s, Trouble is it gets clamped in a vice and quite tight so powder coated steel is out.

    Ummm got me thinking i could fabricate from steel and electro plate the little fella..
    Give me an excuse to get a kit :whistle:
