hi, im just learning and wondered if someone could give me opinion on these two beads. Both beads are about 3inch long on clean mild steel wth good ground and 100amp, I used the same 3.2 electrode on 4.7mm steel.
The bead on the left i used a zig zag motion, the one on right i just dragged in a straight line.
Both started on left and worked to right.
im interested any anything you have to say really, slag away.
particularly interested in which one is likely to have better fusion.
I know someone will ask so, the welding i will be doing is at best on plate this thick as i make some tools, fix my ****e land rover chassis and some repairs to my trailer, but mostly i will be welding horseshoe art. I would like to think that i could rely on welds of some structure though.
Ideally the end game one day would be to be a welder but i wont hold my breath.
thanks guys and gals
