What's this engine then?

Dylan, the guy who's hepling me with the motorhome rebuild pulled this out of his stores the other day. He was given it:
Anyone know its lineage - looks like an outboard..

Yep, can't see any carbs.

Never seen anything like that, intriguing...

2 stroke, water cooled - no carb or magneto, but the gear is there to drive something.

Fuel tank copper or brass, the cylinder jackets are brass, apparently the conrods are bronze, offset, the crank is horizontally opposed. Rings are 1/4 inch thick...

The casing below the engine crankase is not likely original, and the gear driven pump is likely for coolant - so its water cooled. There is a bevel gear fitted to the crankshaft, which lines up with the bushed hole just below where the carb used to be. This doesn't look original.

Some one once asked me about the 1000 Engine rally so i showed them this video.
Its strange what floats some peoples boats, for me its my Hammer collection, I also collect Pad Saws but I only have about 20 different ones.
Its only Poverty and space that stops me well some times I bought a Mobletty scooter last year because I like it!
