I need to make a seat pan for a cb750 I'm building. Originally I made this out of (if I remember rightly) 2mm mild steel just using an angle grinder and bent it using my bare hands.
When I mocked the back end up it looks like the rear tyre is going to hit the mudguard. I'm going to need to raise the rear mudguard up and then form the seat pan with a 'hump' in it to accommodate.
This picture shows what I'm after:
So it's got the upward bend for the rear hoop and then a bend going the other way to form round their guard.
What is needed to form sheet metal in this manner? Is it something I can do myself with limited tooling?
