Hello, I am a complete novice at this, I have never welded before, and although I understand the concept I have no real idea where to start. I am a practical person with plenty of practical experience in automotive mechanical repair, cabinet making and general carpentry. I want to add welding to my abilities.
I want to be able to make up frames for benches and furniture. Build a small four-wheeled hand cart from a tubular frame and wooden body. I also want to make repairs to the odd piece of equipment. I have a cement mixer stand that needs a leg repairing. It is these small jobs I would like to undertake, for myself, I am not planning on offering a service!
I have tried looking at what is out there with my very limited knowledge and have found the Clarke 135TE from Machine Mart at around £300.00 This seems to fit my needs and budget. Any thoughts on the suitability of this machine for a beginner, like me, would be appreciated. Of course, if there is something else out there I should be looking at, please let me know.
Ralph.
