now then, going be needing to start painting bits of the defender soon, problem being it’s not my forte so have no idea with regards to paint etc. Any recommendations on type?
That looks well, appears they don’t do the green I want though (Keswick)I brush painted my 90 using the info here with Tekaloid paint. I was really pleased with the results.

We use zinc chromate aircraft primer at work so I’ll use that, it doesn’t come off too easy I know that much. To be fair, unless I really have to I doubt I’ll go to bare metal before paint, the panels are really straight so don’t need filler or any beating so a rub down to key it was all it was going to getJust about any paint will do the top coat Dan , I would be more concerned about primer on the ali panels. Without a decent etch primer ali has a habit of throwing paint off. Just saying

bear in mind ive had to buy a brand new chassis, rebuild a bulkhead, buy a truck cab and acquire a rear hi cap bulkhead.....Show off.....
I'd love to have that much metal between the holes to actually paint....
The PO of my S3 gave me a tin of enamel but not a brush small enough to get between them...
