I'm about to start what will become a winter project a glass fibre mini on a rear wheel drive backbone chassis (based on a spitfire mk3 design. I'm thinking of using aluminium sheet for the internal panels, floor bulkheads etc. Can any one guide me to the correct specification or grade to use

the floor panels would be beaded with outriggers in 25mmm square box section particularly at points for body mounting seat mounting and and pedal box which will be mounted on the floor and not hung from the fire wall I am thinking to use a similar layout to a Triumph Herald for the chassis .Its all at the planning stage the car will not be for road use. Curiously the spitfire 3 has the same wheelbase as the classic mini and clubman well within 10 mm
