Welding time with a Co2 bottle?

What would the welding time be with a Co2 bottle (BOC Size B) that is -

14cm diameter x 83cm height
Filled to 50bar
Co2 Content weighs 6.35kgs


Trying to add up the costs / runtime options I have before I commit to Co2 or Co2/Argon

Co2 is liquid so low pressure shows on gauge 50 bar ish
my pub bottles seem to last ages

Your bottle should last about 321 minuets of weld time

worked out by Co2(gaseous) is 1.977g/L so 6350/1.977/10 Is 321 mins

So just under 5 and a half hours.. not bad... hhmmm... Now I just need to see if somewhere will fill a BOC empty Co2 bottle in my area lol

oh and I got the details from here for the bottle - http://www.boconline.co.uk/pdf_downloads/products/modes_of_supply/cylinder_capacity_details.pdf Im guessing content is the weight of the Co2?

Try a fire extinguisher place, a fairly independant one is better

if not take the cylinder to a HSS hire yard and they will swap BOC bottles without all the account info.

unfortunately the bottle will be the property of BOC so you may find your options limited

yea thats what Im finding but will check with local HSS hire place as suggested thanks

If no luck I will just bite the bullet and go for the BOC deal or a Deposit based one.

Local Fire safety place said £30+ Vat for a refurbed 2kg fire extinguisher and then £12.50+ Vat a refill / exchange after that.

Other place said for a 10L size Co2 bottle its £24.99 a year rent and £15 a refill.

Going to write them all down and work it all out £ for £.
