Hello,
I am looking to weld a 3/4" hardened steel nut to a 1/4" plate mild steel. I was thinking of just tacking it at opposite sides then letting it cool down as to avoid any distortion to the threads of the nut. Then continue tacking & cooling until the nut is welded all the way around. Does this sound like a good method? any tips would be appreciated.
