Welders bench

Hi all im looking at building a bench for welding ive been using somthing that
is made from 3mm stainless but it warpes so that is something to think about
my size would be 600x1000 or1250 how thick would the top have to be how
high and what type of build any input welcom cheers ocean

I reckon about 3' high is pretty good. An angle iron frame bolted to the wall or floor with the top welded on. As for thickness maybe 8 or 10 mm

6mm minimum, depending on the framework. When you weld the top on, just use minimal number of small stitches to prevent it warping.

Check out auctions there was a 4' x 6' cast surface table went for £50.00 the other day just keep it clean from weld spatter.Here is a picture of my jig table using 90 x 50 box for the main frame and 12mm thick steel plate 2100 x 1000.
