Evening all,
I searched the archive and couldn't find anything that would help me. Hoping you can make a few recommendations.
I'm planning to do some heavy restoration of a 68 Mustang. My goal is to learn to MIG weld first...and hopefully get good enough to handle the welding.
I need a welder that's both good for a beginner to learn on and versatile enough to take me to the next level and use it to restore the car. The welding required ranges from body panels and floors (19 to 11 gauge steel) to frame rails and spring mounts. Mostly steel I imagine.
I'm on a budget so I'm looking for the most bang for my buck in terms of reliability and versatility....and of course something available here in the States.
What is your minimum recommended welder for my requirements?
Any specific or must-have features I should look for in this case?
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Joe Martins
