Today i made a gate to reinforce my garage/workshop entrance door, but its all gone a bit pete tong.
I have managed to warp the frame.
Now i have learned from this and if i do it again it will be made a lot differently. I should have drilled holes into the box section and fed the round bar up and through and then tacked it all into place.
Instead i did it the silly way by cutting 12 individual pieces of round bar and welding them to the box frame. (i know dumbass me). You learn from your mistakes. if i lay it flat on the ground, two corners are up in the air a couple of centimeters.
Regardless of doing it all wrong my measurements were spot on and i tacked it all together before welding with filler.
Should i have clamped the frame down before welding the roundbar or was something else off? and how could i possibly un warp it? could i clamp it and leave it or maybe clamp it and heat it up or something?
Or is it now just scrap?
