Not strictly furniture but in the same vain as my flatscreen tv bracket.
Yesterday I was compelled to buy yet another guitar. I had to. Pristine, almost top of the range 1 piece 80's warlock was a steal from cash converters and even came with a super heavy homemade marine ply case, lined with bright pink fur and covered in Cannibal Corpse and Bolt Thrower stickers! Everything about this thing is 'heavy', judging by the pick marks the previous owner only used downstrokes! (Downstrokes sound cleaner for the purposes of metal, and obviously you get extra power from a guitar like this by playing only downwards in the direction of satan's realm)
The problem is that this guitar is huge and spikey and is one of around 6 or 7 I now have in the house. Mrs secretsmoker is more about the mellow hipster rock with beards, thick rimmed glasses and canvas shoes; she quite likes guitars and does herself in fact play but at this point we are literally tripping over various heads, cabs and guitars, not to mention numerous homebrew pedals.
To keep the guitars corralled and out of the way I need to create some sort of rack similar to a guitar shop with padded forks for the headstocks to rest on which can be wall mounted. This will actually need to be quite strong as a couple of the pricier guitars and basses are quite heavy. I need to gauge how much can be suspended from what size of wall bracket and then work from there. Lots of headscratching needs to happen before I begin on this, and I also have a load of other projects to finish. Could be a busy weekend!
