My wins a promotional and advetising items business, and uses a vinyl cutter to cut vinyl for sticking on stuff, and for pressing onto t-shirts. She needs a proper stand for her cutter, as the computer table she uses at the moment isn't quite the right size, and causes vinyl feed problems from time to time. The stand she can get from the cutter suppliers hasn't got casters, which are vital. So I've designed one:
Not shown are the end caps and casters. It took me all day using the copy of SolidWorks I (ahem) aquired to get this far. It stands about 750mm tall, the base legs being 500mm. The two arms poking out the uprights are to hold a bar holding a reel of vinyl. It's made from 25x25x2mm box section, with the uprights from 50x25x2.
Does it look ok? It's the first thing I've designed, and I'm not sure it's stable enough. The base legs could do with being shorter, if at all possible.
