Vintage Linoleum

I’m just restoring a 1947 Leyland PD1 bus and need some red oxide Lino to part repair a few sections and blend in. Anyone know of a very close substitute or access to some period Lino as I’m wanting to keep as much patina as I can?

I seem to remember reading a while ago about a company who does commercial quality lino. I’m sure it was called Forbo, not a great help, but might be a starting point for you.

Hi, The proper product name is Treadmaster, it's non slip, hard wearing and not particularly cheap. London Transport used it, although I think it's widely used on boats as well now. It comes in ribbed, smooth and now diamond relief, and more of a variety of colours than the brown we used.

Very interesting!! Just looked at their website and I might just go for a general look round since it’s semi-local. Cheers for that.

@frank horton went to the museum today and had a fantastic experience. Spoke to the lads who are ’hands on’ and got the full unofficial tour of behind the scenes and managed to sample their restorations ‘off view’ to the general public. They were so happy to help!
