After just completing a forearm bar, I now have an interest in the idea of constructing a basic leg press device.
I had been looking for pictures or designs, but everything that I came across online seemed a little too complex (for me) to follow just from photos alone and in the absence of proper plans. I have a drawing here stored on my pc that I felt was perhaps the most basic apparatus that would do the job.
This bit of kit has to be attached to the wall as can be seen in the drawing. It would be nice to have some sort of damper mechanism instead of the chains.(Perhaps that would compliment the required lifting force as well as being a safety element)?
Maybe a couple of plumber block bearings with a bar between them (for the board to pivot on) would be better than the hinges that are at the bottom.
I have not yet worked out why there is a semi-circle cut out of the board.
I would welcome advice/criticism, and comments on any aspect that would improve the operation of this device.
