You might be able to get a paint already mixed which is the simpler option.
Matting base will also get the level of sheen if you don't need a textures finish.
If it's base coat and clear you can use a matt or satin lacquer (or a mixture of the two) for the same effect.
Has it already been painted?
You might also need a plastic cleaner and primer.
Go to a local paint supplier and they should be able to sort you out, or give us a bit more information (Car make / model) and maybe a photo if you need more help.
any paint shop will sell you what you need its just a texture additive added to the colour ...or aerosol texture paint on first then overpaint with matt/satin grey or black to suit your needs
No reason why it shouldn't work. I've used it through a Schultz gun on sills and underfloor and also to good effect on a texture finish fascia on my MG through a gravity fed 2.5. It stays flexible which is good for bumpers. However. Explore the additive options and plastic primers. Nick
I am repairing damaged bumper, (damaged area filled but no need for 2k primer...I would rather use 2k raptor or some other 1-shot application rather than using base and clears, which would also require 2k primer.
I'm after a long lasting finish, something I am not getting with the 1k stuff.
And yeah I do use plastic primer degreasers etc I paint regularly so got all the stuff needed.
Does raptor produce a dull or satin finish? Thanks
Thanks for the info, dull finish is fine its for vans
Data sheet suggests thinners to achieve different textures I am aiming for the smoothest finish as possible but mildly textured (like factory yes) i.e one that wont hold/ grab fluff
I thinned the 1k stuff before, cellulose thinner was recommended, while I did achieve a nice finish it doesn't seem to be hard wearing, hoping the 2k raptor stuff is the answer, cheers
You can get whatever texture you want with raptor depending on how you thin it and what you spray it with.... I got it to lay down like glass on some black gate fittings
Have a look at my Mr Midge project on this site. I sprayed the fascia with no thinners through a conventional gravity 2.5. superb light textured satin finish.
It may work with a 2.0 I would suggest more product less air as a basic set up and adjust from there to get an even wet coat. Good luck. I look forward to seeing the results.
