I want to create a post about upgrading a mig welder(transformer) with a fixed torch
What are the solutions can we implement?
- First upgrade is a eurotorch which implies also the installation of a solenoid gas valve
I read that we sould connect the gas valve (230vac) to the 230vac of the transformer because the the other part of the transformer has many voltages. so far so good but i have a question!!!
If I connect the 230vac to the valve. the valve stays on, always letting the gas flow.
I want to synchronize the valve with the torch.
can i replace a fixed torch on a mig inverter welder????
- Second upgrade dinse plugs to earth clamp - It´s easy to store a welder if we can remove the earth cable and the torch.
- Third upgrade external spool suport for bigger spool - the problem may be ln the motor wire feed that can not handle the extra weight of a larger coil. we can change the motor assembly for a bigger one.
i see one upgrade that make start thinking about a external wire feed
the setup is quite easy and we can let the mig welder untouched
we install on a separe case a spooler suport, the wire motor ,the knob for wire speed and the gas valve we use the welder to power up the external wire feed.
more notes
change analog wire speed knob for one digital. it is easy to change it?
any thoughts about the upgrade are welcomed
