I know the terminoligy, just like comparing other peoples work as a reference pointDude this is standard stuff. If you’re not confident in the terminology then you’re probably not ready for the test.
Few images attached.

Just like hearing other peoples experience ,im in my first welding job wanting to progress to somewhere new and learn moreDo you know what the testing standard is that you will be working to? Are you asking what the criteria will be or just for examples of others work?
Dont worry about it bud i know how some people can be on here ,goes over my head ..i just like speaking to other welders for tips and adviceIt's a bit unfair to suggest a guy isn't up to something because he asks for others examples.

Next week i am yes budSo are you about to take a test?
As long as i keep my wire at the front edge of my weld pool on my root the root should go okay ,then its just the fill and capThe horizontal butt shall be the one that catches you out, obviously they’ll be a procedure to follow so follow it, don’t panic or rush, take your time, relax/go for a coffee, when you’re putting your filling passes in ensure that you leave enough space to put your last run in on each layer so you don’t get lack of fusion on your pass on your top bevel, for capping do not burst your bottom bevel with your last filling passes so when you cap you’ll lay a nice first capping run and the rest shall follow, tidy/sweep up any mess you’ve made after the test always impresses!
Anyway good luck and take everything in your stride!

I dont know if its to that standard,i just got told thats the testIs it for structural welding, BS EN ISO 9606-1?
If so and you are doing multi run Fillet welds then you won’t need to do the single run as multi covers single.
For that you will just need an equal leg lengths (although there is a tolerance which would be to quality level B in ISO 5817) and a minimum throat thickness of 0.7 of the leg length, e.g 10mm leg 7mm throat.
The Butt weld weld if full pen will need to be above flush on the cap with no undercut and smooth toe blend. The root will need to be pretty even all the way along with a stop start in, no lack of pen or lack of fusion and nothing over 3mm.
Hope that makes sense, anything else just ask.
