Son at uni has unfortunately tested positive for Covid. He had 3 of his mates rent a house together. They were all going home on Wednesday , so did the right thing and did lateral flow tests. He unfortunately tested positive, the rest were clear. Did PCR test,yep positive. So, not ideal,but self isolating in a house by himself. Cannot go out and buy food. So, does an online shop with Sainsbury’s on my wife’s account and it gets paid from my bank account. Clicks box on their website where it asks if he is self isolating. Doorbell rings and he is expecting his shop in plastic bags waiting for him to carry it in. Oh no, that would make sense. Driver insists on proof of identity as he is under 25. WTF? No alcohol in the order. No restricted items .So driver now has been in close contact with a confirmed Covid case because of Sainsbury’s clever policy, and driver now on his merry way spreading Covid germs. Words escape me

He didn’t take kindly to me saying I had added to his order..
Think he was rather relieved I added mince pies and chocolate after I said I had added Vaseline and Baby Marrows

I was at the van window chatting to a colleague, only 10mins in did he think to tell me everyone in his home has covid.

Next day he fails to enter a site as he is 37.8, no bother he just goes to his next job.

I spent 9 weeks in close proximity to a customer. What I didn't know is every weekend he was larging it up in London every weekend. Especially as r gave me the blag about working from home etc when I took the job on.

must be pot luck ive worked through the lot of it in hundreds of houses. kids and younguns seem to be spreading it a lot mind

I have 2 student nurses who are naturists living next door and i found they were self isolating ,so i keep dropping stuff off because I'm a nice guy, is it wrong that i have got them a get well slowly card

My daughter is the same way. She is last person staying in the 6 bed student digs, and she caught covid. All her mates went home for xmas over a week ago, but she thought she’d stay and do a few more shifts at her evening bar job.

She’s managed to get a small Tesco food and meds delivery in with no problem.

She’s suffering, heavy cough, tight chest, no taste or smell, but her mums going to pick her up today and take her back to her house. She works in covid wards in the local hospitals and has it herself already.

It’s horrible not being able to go and take care of my baby. I’m all jabbed and boostered, but I daren’t risk catching it as I’m playing taxi driver for my dad over xmas, so he can go see mum in her nursing home. Plus I’m already asthmatic myself.

Government statistics state that the new strain is very contagious and 200,000 people a day are catching the latest it....

......but in the next breath states there are 10,000 confirmed cases.

And they wonder why people are getting disillusioned with it all.

The issue with statements like that is they don't explain fully to the great unwashed

They can't test everyone in the country so they estimate based on the cross sections of tests they have taken.
