As a project in accurate cutting and welding practice I would like to do a Trefoil Knot, has anyone got any simple plans or cutting list to give me a start?
sorry no but loads'a fun finding out...... how u'd draw it out in cad would also be amazing.... I'm just a caveman at heart..... NICE work
I think I have got one in sketchup that one is when I was figuring out how to use it if that's any use? I think the hard part will be working out the weld sequence though!
They look like they'd use a fair amount of material, size dependent of course. @Tangledfeet Any chance you could copy me in on the file(s)? A fellow can never have too many projects on the go.....
So, Friday night and I'm sat at my laptop drinking making CAD drawings whilst Innis & Gunn and eating cheese puffs... the things I do for folk!
Sorry, I thought you had the files already and didn't intend for you to go to that much trouble on my account. I just thought it'd be a thing to have, possible mounted on a hardwood stand to display in the house. or even scaled up to have in the garden.
LOL - Ach, nae problem! Only took one can and ten minutes or so. People did say one for the garden would look good... Corten steel, perhaps? Done, thought I had a drawing but couldn't find it - had the parts modelled at work so had to log on and email them to myself. I made it from 40mm square so it wasn't huge. If I was doing it again I'd increase the spacing between the parts (there's only three parts, three of each needed) to make welding and assembly easier.
Looks like 6 of the browns?? Or is that just an optical illusion?? Would be awesome to have one for a paper weight on a small scale, (20mm boxish)
