My wife is a railway enthusiast, she's ex-BR, and loves the whole railway architecture and the systems.
She served her time in Great Western, and has the right to travel first class as a retired member is staff.
So, when we saw a set of first class seats from the venerable and luxurious HST for sale, she bought a full 4 seat booth.
Hurrah.
Eventually the plan is (for me) to build a diner like arrangement in the house so we can eat like we were on a train, but without the track trying to spill the drinks, and no people walking past all the time.
But in the meantime we've to store the seats.
I'm nabbing a pair for my study, as cinema seats for the TV. And the other pair will be secreted about the house until I've several other projects finished.
This thread will show the disassembly, which is necessary as they are very heavy awkward things, and I need to weld up a base for them.
