I am trying to think of the best ways to secure a trailer while hitched to a vehicle, and the two ideas that come to mind are wheel clamps and coupling locks.
I have been on google image search and found pictures for both of these items. I have not yet found any pictures in exploded view of how the clamps are designed, but how hard can it be to make one. I have noted that they seem to use a barrel lock (I think that is the correct term) as opposed to a padlock. Again I have not been able to locate any detailed pictures of how these locks are fitted to the clamps.
Has anyone on here made such items and do you have any pics/plans or idea of how the barrel type locks are fitted. Also, I would like to see some pics of the reverse side of the clamps (that is the side that faces the wheel).
Here are two coupling locks.
