Hey folks, have been thinking about building myself a trailer mostly got my idea from the previous post about trailers!!, going to get myself an axle and leaf springs sorted out, but been thinking mainly about the frame, is just for my own use so wont be heavily loaded prob 500 - 750kg max, only going to be using light leaf springs. So question is what sort of material should i be building the frame out of? I had been thinking of using 30mm x 3mm sqbox 3mm for the main frame shown in black in the diagram below (not to scale and only to give rough idea of the layout), and the draw bar and centre cross member shown in red in the diagram out of 50mm x 4mm sqbox. So what do you think? strong enough? most likely do some strengthing around the joints etc. and prob build sides and ladder rack out of angle.
