Just bought a Clarke 150TE second hand, and I'm in the process of giving it a much-needed "service." My main concern is the torch. When it arrived the shroud was held on with insulating tape. Removing this revealed that the actual fit of the shroud was really loose, and removing it showed why.
The shroud has some sort of brass fitting (excuse my ignorance- its all new to me!) tightly wedged into its rear end. It is pretty smashed up but you can see that it originally contained a female thread- something that leaves me at a loss, as I understand the shrouds should be located by a snap ring. I've attached 2 photos for the sake of clarity- the first shows the actual torch and the second shows the shroud complete with mystery insert.
All I really want to know is how this problem can be overcome; If I bought a new swan-neck would this include the part that the shroud locates onto? I'd be really grateful for any suggestions.
Thanks,
Jon
