I have also made an F shaped one but i was struggling getting the bends tight with it.
But I wasnt bending them in the vice with the F. Might try it.
Have welded a round to it now and also a piece of angle to the inside to give a rectangular opening to stick rounds in to bend.
Its now a multifunction tool.
A small forge of some description is on my "hmm, quite fancy one of them..." list.
Didnt think chunko agreed with paint. Maybe you need to rust them to a nice even finish instead chunko?
A small forge is quite easy to make...it's all the other bits of kit you wish you had when you start using it that are the problem. I use oxy as often as my fire to be honest, it's easier to get a localised heat exactly where you want it so I use that for a lot of bending and get the fire going when I have serious stuff to do. Still use the oxy when I have things with delicate leaves on the end though, they burn too easily in the fire if you're not careful. Coke is a lot cheaper than gas though and works better on big stuff.
