On a bit of a roll now, so while I'm waiting on a few twiddly bits for the restoration it's time to sort out, set out and make a start.
The plan for this one is to take the (cosmetically challenged) base bike and use up all the stuff that's kicking about the workshop. Micron brace, Giuliari seat, Cowley exhaust etc. The engine which came out of it had a few stripped threads, a broken clutch cable post etc but ran sweet as. However as this one's going away from stock I'm going to use the very tidy Upperton rebuilt bottom end I got a little while ago. have several head/barrel sets so I reckon at least a set of Wiseco 1168 pistons and rebore then go from there.
I've um'd and ah'd about suspension, but settled on stock with internal upgrades where possible. I guess as the StreetBike series did.
Paintwork is very much a TBD at the moment, but I don't see it as stock.
Anyway, the starting point was bought in 2010, and used for a couple of years.
Then other bikes took over and it was stuck in the container and finally stripped down 2013 or 2014.
A workshop move or two and here we are, time to get it sorted.
I'm taking the frames over to Dream Machine for stripping and painting next week. The other frame will be a restoration and tale for another day/thread.
So the frame and some of this stuff will form the basis of the build.
