Just a quick one for some swift advice.
I was of the belief that testing voltages on a pcb when checking DC voltages you test to ground? that being the ground of the case where all the other green/yelow wires are bolted to.
Problem is im not showing any voltages on a particular plasma cutter pcb when doing so.
BUT! If i change that ground to the 0v pin on the step down transformer thats supplying that 24v I am registering the voltage no problem.
This has completely confused me and i cant find anything online that explains testing for voltages when troubleshooting a pcb and how to?
