T6061 flat bar stockists.

Any suggestions as to where I could get hold of T6061 flat bar. I only require a very small amount, and no one is interested (understandably)

I need the following
1 1/2"x 1/8" x 1m (36"ish)
1 1/2 x 3/16 x 1m (36"ish)

Is there reason you are asking for 6061 Mr Shox? As i expect you know that's more of a standard In the usa and other countries and not the Uk.

There is a chance they would be guillotined from sheet if they don't have them in flat, but again its unlikely you will get in in 6061 but you never know.


Smiths metal centres do list 6061 in standard and American listed Ally alloys but often they don't have big stock of non standards for the uk ranges, but worth a shot and they will supply all sizes of orders.... If you could go to 6082 the range will increase a lot.

Thanks for the replies.
Aacol (Hull) had 6m lengths in stock but it was £16+ p/m +plus Delivery
It’s to replace two 1 1/2x6" spreader plates in an aircraft wing. The original parts were junked.

I knew as flatbar it wasnt going to be easy or cheap been a yank spec material.
Luckily as Scott says 6082 is suitable.

I bought a meter of each from Locate Supplies, be here tomorrow
