A project i am working on is fitted with a non working electric sunroof (expensive option back in 1981) cant get the parts for these sunroofs anymore and im not really a fan of sunroofs anyway so i would like to get rid of the sunroof, just wondering how best to go about it, options would be to either replace the complete roof skin or to weld a section in to the existing roof skin to close off the hole, welding in a section would be my preference and i have a roof skin to cut the section from my concern is the roof warping, one idea was to purchase some flat copper bar to make a purpose made clamp/heatsink from, shape it to the underside of the panel and add some bits so it clamps it all together then carefully go round tacking the section in, thoughts and advice appreciated, thanks
