Sunday lunchtime Out of gas

Welding away happily with just two little lugs left to do on the fences i am making for round her walled garden and I run out of gas.

Miles from any real shops

Any alternatives apart from start on the list of DIY jobs that don't involve a welder?

It's going to rain tomorrow any way so no welding outside. Although water would stop nitrogen getting into the weld puddle

could be used i suppose, if you had that third arm to hold the strimmer and point it towards the job

carbon monoxide not carbon dioxide

im not saying it'd be good, but it would probably add some sheilding, i mean when you get carbon monoxide poisoning, its cos of the lack of oxygen

where does the oxygen come in to the equasion??

What if it's a car with a catalytic converter that just puts out co2 and water once warm

surely its just keeping nitrogen from the weld pool

cars still emit other stuff not just co2 and water there are also hydrocarbons
nitrogen, carbon monoxide

if it was that simple a system would have been divised for collecting it and putting into bottles for us to use but as you dont stand a cat in hell's chance of it working its probably best not to try it
