Hi there,
I have a steel boat with welded on stanchions. Some godforsaken creature must have crashed his boat into mine while mine was berthed. Strangely enough he/she/it managed to bend two of the stanchions, both at the same angle and without damaging the hull. See pictures.
The boat is insulated inside. I have a small oxy-acetylene torch like these: https://www.jula.no/catalog/verktoy...r=desc&skip=75&take=25&page=4&_=1521212767357
Plans are to build up a small edge out of play dough around the base of the stanchions, fill it with water, heat the pipe and bend it back.
But I wonder if the water keeps things cool enough down there so the polystyrene insulation won't melt and if the pipe won't crack. Has anybody done something like that?
Cheers
