The story of my life this is.
Trying to find parts and consumables locally is an absolute nitemare.
That was before B and C.

Do you think I can find a Bridgeport belt locally.
Every one on line wants 3 days days to ship it.


I think this is the belt

ST398 8300398​

but it does not give dimension so I can see if a motor factors has one in stock .

Anyone happen to know sizes etc please?

Found the size of the one that's on it. Now to try and translate to car parts numbers. Lol

I believe it is a 1/2" 72 degee vee - 34" belt - I also think a 4L340 mower belt is the same size and will fit. Same J head as I have on mine but can't get to it at the moment

Can't you just take it off wander into a car parts place, get them to measure and replace ?

Take the old one, compare to stock.
Measure the machine - measure stock.
String/tights/stockings/closeline around pulleys - compare to stock.
ie walk into a shop/factors.

Although if you've waited since before B&C to then complain about 3 day delivery . . .

there are Vee belts and v-belts . . . 3 quid fan belt for a the last car in the world using a vee-belt, compared to an engineered vee-belts to actually handle some load . . .

Halfords was funny...phoned up..can't get a local store....so get a call center. Say I wanted a drive belt....to to hold... So waited and 2 mins later was told they don't have one. When I said I have not even given to the part number or specs she just reiterated the same....they don't have one. Lol

Most decent factors should be able to cross match using the number.

There's a good place in Inverness who can supply bearings too, most common sizes in stock.

They live and die on a registration number, even for two stroke oil for a strimmer.

Think yourself lucky it's not a particular proximity switch. I've managed to get 4 - 6 weeks down to 4. Add a week while customs eff about with it probably.

Nothing to do with any of this, but I've just had a quote for 23 - 25weeks for $100,000 of equipment! Might not meet the delivery deadline at this rate!

I ordered some hydraulic valves in Feb and I think it was May I eventually got them. Brexit and Covid cited as the reasons.

Am I missing something but what’s so difficult in getting an A33 v belt ? I’m regularly buying similar belts all the time and Simply Bearings will get one to me usually next day. Even if one selects the free post option it’s usually never more than 48 hours.

Same here, BSL or Marksman would have them on the shelf. Cant think of a motorfactors around here that would keep an a33 or any industrial belts.

I've felt your frustration, couldn't find a belt for the vertical head on my British mill. Ended up taking the broken one on one of my trips overseas and finally found replacements at a Farm Supply store. They were listed under "Fractional Horsepower Belts", being belts for lawn mowers and such, and were dirt cheap compared to belts at auto parts dealers. So, consider checking out your nearest agricultural supplier.

Go to a bearing place such as ERIKS. They do drive belts and can measure match the original. Or match the numbers you have. Also measure the wides part of the pulley and the narrowest Part to identifie the V. Measure around th two pulleys to get the length. Also finally measure the out side of the two pulleys. I cant believe that you don’t have a bearing and belt stockist locally that cant get a belt next day. Cromwell , Zoro and RS will if not.
