Still newish to mig welding i now want to learn to do it right please help me if i am going wrong
The top one isnt a bad attempt, but looks like your weaving.
The bottom two are again heading in the right direction, Id suggest a bit more volts. And use your second hand to steady the torch, and keep practicing.
Some was 2.5 and some was 3mm. Before welding thes i had to take 30ft of wire off the spool tiny bits or rust from been in garage. I will be getting some new wire.
Clarke 135te and i think it was on 2 and max on power
try to push forward and backward motion instead of a weave pattern till you get better but most important watch the puddle and keep it the shape of a c if the puddle looks like a v as it cools slow down. and you are definitely running cold or are at the max capability of your welder. how ever it doesn't look bad at all you ae defiantly moving in the right direction. try practicing on 3mm or 4 mm for the welder you are using.Still newish to mig welding i now want to learn to do it right please help me if i am going wrong View attachment 204447 View attachment 204448 View attachment 204449 View attachment 204450
A few years back Jodi at Welding Tips and Tricks produced a video series called 'Mig Welding Basics', you can watch it free on YouTube or buy it on DVD. Might be helpful.
not to have a go here but i wouldnt pay for a dvd off them or anyone else
theres plenty of info and tips out there even on youttube without having the need to pay for it
this forum does give plenty of tips and how toos on most stuff
im kinda suprised that you posted that one up
you need to be max on your settings
the clarke 150 is up to 5mm and even then its barely welding the metal
the 135 will be worse and its max will be 3mm 4 tops but not 5mm steel
i also think your gun is too far away from the metal too much soot deposits
also you need to adjust your gun angle to a more direct fire at the metal than being off side
