have had my portamig 185 for a while now, I has the paraweld torch that was supplied by weldequip. I have ran about 4 kg of wire thought it from new, a lot has been .6 wire for a beetle of helping to restore, works fine with this, today I had to welding something thicker so installed .8 wire, when feeding the wire through the torch it snags when it gets to the torch and you need to help rotate the spool to get the wire to pass the torch, when welding the motor slips, when I wind the wire back onto the roll you can feel its tight going thought the torch, once past its fine. if I do the same with .6 wire its free moving through the torch
im guessing its time or a new liner, I have never replaced one as I don't weld a great deal, should this wear out with this amount of use? the wire has no rust, its removed from the machine when not used, back in its original box?
