Hi guys I'm going to waŕm it up a bit anyway.. but dont want to do any damage..
it's an old fashioned steel ball bearing in a bronze fitting and it has been shifted out of place due to a fat monkey hauling on the halyard at the wrong moment, (that would be me..)
If you can see the outer bearing race is flush with the top of the female fitting, it is not meant to be there but a couple of inches lower down..that is why i cant screw the male bronze bit into the female bronze bit because the steel outer bearing race is jammed at the top.
It is difficult to describe the problem without sounding like like a Carry On film
Does bronze expand more than steel bearing races or less is my Q?
