random lines was the request, accompanied by a fag packet sketch. this is what they got, they were happy and so so was I.
That's great, I really love it
Is is waterjetted from a thick plate?
I like that a lot, simple really, but looks great. I was going to ask if they were lasered...
Looks like a pretty good cut, your own machine, or outsourced?
Our own, hypertherm 125 cutting on a swiftcut cnc table. Mainly used for steel structure end plates but do arty type stuff as a bit of a side line
Mines the 2.5 x 1.25, coming up to 5 years old. Should really be thinking of swapping it for the 3 x 1.5, the newer tables have low drive gantries which make loading the table easier I think.
We are looking at buying one at work - I would be interested in your thoughts on the machine
Are you looking at the hypertherm or the swiftcut? Or both?
Its the Swiftcut table/set up which uses the Hypertherm
I went up to Swiftcut last week to have a demo of the machines I was interested in.
Upshot of it is I placed an order for a 3x1.5 water table with the Hypertherm powermax 125 unit.
Really good honest demo, I was happy with the output. Most of my work involves 18 dia holes in 10mm plate, and the holes were good enough for my use. Slight taper on them equating to max 1mm overall taper. The cut was pretty smooth though, and minimal dross that wiped off with a paper towel. Standard def so,they advise min 2d for hole size against plate thickness , so the 18 dia hole in 10mm was what you would expect.
I had done my homework before going in so it was just a case of seeing the results first hand and I was away.
Took the full options package , with the engraver , swiftcam3 autonest software and the camera kit and a compressor to go with it including air and oil filters
Roll on 6 weeks till playtime

Just be careful, the holes these machines produce are out of tolerance against BS1090. No good for Exc2/3 work (unfortunately)
I too was there recently.
If you think you are going to do much work in 15mm or above I would make sure it comes with the hyamp torch, the standard torch can't handle long spells of heavy cutting
