Commercial Kitchen
Plastic shelves in their fridges keep breaking. They're 8mm thick. 500 wide and 415mm deep.
They want to go for 304 stainless, but obviously not 8mm thick.
Now customer has suggested welding round bar onto the bottom of the shelf to stop it bending. I think this will 1.) warp like hell 2.) still sound really tinny.
The only for sure way I know to stiffen a sheet of say 2-3mm stainless is to put a folded return or bead roll a channel or two down its length.
any suggestions?
