Anyone built thier own spray booth building.? Looking for ideas, run out of workshop space and looking to improve production time (set up take down) plus increase quality further
How did you do it ?
What size car truck or for small to medium parts.
We built one years ago block walls covered in thin sheet, grid floor with water wash, the extraction was between the floor level & water blown hot air through filters at both ends.
Walls had a strippable surface cant remember the name this was a good idea every so often peel it off with all the contaminants & re spray could have been Booth-spray or sum such name came from the US at the time.
Would buy a commercial one if I did it again, if you want to build a outer room to house the booth in would thing a steel frame was the way to go
Only thing with electro static is making sure everything close by is grounded to stop build up of charge and potential fire hazards also you are somewhat restricted to type of paint due to conductivity issues, if you can get past this then you save some paint, as for booth ventilation you need a huge fan ideally, some booths move 6400 CFM and if you don't get adequate extraction the booth soon fogs up
Worth mentioning that kit in a booth needs to be EX rated if you are using anything with solvents. In a commercial environment insurance May be an issue on homemade setup?? Second hand Spraybake booths don't sell for much on fleebay and would be a good start with all the kit and control gear.
