A few months ago I bought one of the Aldi digital soldering stations.
I’m really pleased with the way it works but one drawback is the poor quality tips and it’s pretty much impossible to find decent ones that are a direct fit.
It’s just a 4mm thread in the end.
What I was thinking is if I drilled out the hole to take an easily available branded one such as Weller or Hakko I’d have a really decent choice of tips.
I’m not too bothered about the warranty as it didn’t cost a huge amount but obviously I don’t want to render it unusable.
The hole is 25mm deep and the supplied tips only screw in about 6mm so there’s plenty of spare depth.
The threaded end part appears to be just pushed into the end of the “wand”.
Any thoughts?
Don’t suggest buying a better brand either please.
