Hi all
I currently have a mk1 mx5 which I use for grass roots motorsport, sprinting, autosolo that kind of stuff.
The biggest issue with the mx5 is storage and taking spare wheels to an event usually involves filling the passenger seat with tyres and wheels and maybe straping a couple to the roll bar, fine in summer when it's dry but cap when it' winter and wet.
Now I know of a fair few people who use the mx5 to compete either doing the same as me or drifting or just buying wheels and tyres from around the country.
I looked at building a frame to allow me to use the boot space as well as carry a couple of wheels and tyres but someone beat me to it.
The company in question is based in Japan and the link is here

If you look at the frame they have made it allows the boot to be opened whilst still holding the wheels.
Although I think the price the Japanese company are asking is way too rich.
Maybe a painted/power oated mild steel version would work out fairly cost effective.
Does anyone fancy making some for the UK market?
Obviously the price would have to be right but I can' see the raw materials costing that much if mild steel was used.
I would give it a go but my welding is shockingly bad.
