I've not actually started MIG welding yet, just getting the essentials together but a couple of thoughts spring to mind.
Maybe I'm getting a little deep here but when you buy a new car panel it comes with this black coating, would you normally just fit this as is, cleaning up the places where you need exposed metal to weld?
Once you've welded a panel/patch etc you potentially can't get to the inside of it anymore, I'm assuming the heat of the weld will end up leaving exposed bare metal, what can be done to protect areas like this? is this where Waxoil becomes essential? Most cars seem to rust from the inside-out, is this why?
