Should I be worried?

It's been around a month since I ordered my Portamig.

Sent an email to Weldequip but no answer.

I am starting to fear the Paypal dispute time will run out if there is something wrong.

Should I cancel? (Order 5259)

I really want the welder but I am worried about the non existence of any update on my order.

They take a while (waiting list), and I've never heard anything but good things about Weldequip. Try again, but no need to get stressed IMHO.

The "portamig wait" is standard it seems, but worth it apparently.

Phone him, I bought a Portamig off Steve ..(Weldequip) as many others here have and a few other purchases, he is a top guy.

They can take 4 weeks and over when busy, made to order.

Why should you be worried?
Surely you did your homework before ordering off Steve and were aware of how long they take to build and that he's 100% legit?

Perhaps you missed this bit when you looked at the machines?

*Please note that these machines are hand built to order by a bespoke lower volume British manufacturer and there will be a delay in delivery from the date of order. Build times do vary and are currently around 3-4 weeks.

They take a while to arrive, mine took nearly two months due to courier issues, Steve is a busy guy so may not always answer the phone or reply to every email but he is an honest genuine guy.

Just need to have plenty of patience waiting for the mig to arrive, it will be worth it in the end.

No need to worry at all Rallychopper, emails been eratic this last week due to change of broadband supplier (thought the last lot were poor!) & computer upgrades. I'll keep pestering em for you

I think it took about six weeks for my 185 to turn up, abit of a pain but glad I waited, Steve phoned me as soon as it was ready and it was delivered the next day no problem, i'm really happy with it.

I shall wait and hope. I had a few PMs slating weldequip but promoting some other welder brand.

Those I will ignore as I have spent a lot of time researching and the PortaMig was my final choice.

I was just a little worried as I got to 4-5 weeks and no communication. That is something that needs improving. I expect a month wait, but I would like a status update every now and then.

I ordered a Mig off weldequip last week and it was on my door step the next day. I'm sure the delay your experiencing is out with the hands of weldequip, their top notch.

There is nothing wrong with recomending another brand, but its a bit underhanded to slate the guy behind his back on PM.

Atleast do it on the open forum so people can defend themselves.

I suspect that is someone who has a financial or family related interest in the 'other brand' and in my opinion is dirty tactics.

I have had nothing but first class service from Weldequip, the wait for a Portamig is annoying for those wanting a machine right away and I think the company needs to at least manage a shorter waiting time, both for the customer and their own risk of losing those customers not wanting to wait.

However, for those that can suffer the wait, the result is a great machine.

Although never having had a welder from Steve, what I have had from him in the past has been first rate with a first class service from him, first rate genuine person imo....

I have had a few items from Weldequip and have no complaints at all. I have not yet bought a machine from here, but I do have full confidence of the quality of items sold here. I doubt Weldequip would want the flack from forum members if he sold items of poor quality with poor service.
