Hi all,
Just about ordered a PORTAMIG 211, when I read the bombshell (two actually) that it needs a 20A input fuse AND it doesn not accept little disposable gas bottles - both a testament to its pro build.
I am essentially living in rented accomadation and this has just peed all over my bonfire. I have been saving up and drooling that these welders for about an year now and it seems to be going to pot.
1: Any idea how much it might cost for an NIC leccy to lay a socket dedicated to running this mig, for me? Can extension cords of apr 10m be used with one of these high power sockets?
2: Are there any adapters or whatnot which can be used to run disposable gas bottles on this machine without screwing up warranty. Steve advices they dont really come with disposable bottle use and recomends refills. I am probably going to be in Preston, Lancs only a few more months (mebbe until Nov 2007, if I play it safe) and I dont want to get tied down to contracts and whatnot.....
I could wait about 7 looong months before ordering...any votes? I would rather pay the man now before I go waste this money of something stupid.
In conclusion....................aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrghhhhhh!! £$%$%&& £$^Y& !!!!!
Any help apreciated.
Warmest Regards
Udhi
