Hello to the forum. I have an old genesis 202 acdc which I'm trying to tig weld aluminium and occasionally stainles with. I have got to the stage that I think I need a footpedal control - in fact I have a miller pedal but need a 7 pin "millitary connector" to connect at the machine. I've also had enough of the stiff, long, unweildy torch and umbilical. These welders were once rebadged as inteco, but that trail has gone cold.
Added to these woes, I've had issues on ac with anything more than 5mm or so of tungsten stick-out causing oxidisation and frustration, and on DC weling steel I regularly find the pool "boiling" with associated swiss cheese welds. On stainless it's a dirty black finish.
So I guess the questions are -
anyone know where I can get a selco round multipin welding connector and torch I can connect to it.
Where can I get a 7 pin millitary plug for the pedal - is it a plessey or similar?
Anyone got any ideas on the boling pool/oxidising issues - is this torch connected?
Phew, a lot to ask...
